new job
So it is official. After careful consideration and negotiation, I am now the full time instructional support technician for the State University of New York at New Paltz Metal Program and Digital Fabrication Lab. It is full time and tenure track. Liz and I are VERY happy and are now going to be able to settle down in the Hudson Valley area. I feel blessed to find such a wonderful job with so many amazing colleagues. I hope to spend more time appreciating my surroundings and hopefully spend much more time in the studio making. I also hope to find the time to write more on the blog. For the last six months, regrettably I have only had the time to post craft/design/art videos and photos. I hope to add to that by sharing more technical images, process shots and semi-critical reviews. Thanks again for reading. Check back soon for more exciting things.

ACC
So I am frantically working on displays for ACC. I am getting really excited. I am trying to make it all fold up and portable so break down will be a snap. I hate having to wait in that long ass line. It is always goes around the block and takes all night. Since we are staying across the street I thought we could just walk it over. Of course we are on the very end this year so we will be the last to leave anyway. Oh ACC Baltimore, you are a blessing and a curse.
There is going to be a long table that will have piano hinges so the legs will fold in and a large accordion background that folds up, zig zag style. I thought it was going well but Liz just said it reminds her of a tiki bar and now that is all I see. I think I will have to paint it blue or pink or something. It is driving me nuts. (a pirate walks into a bar and orders a rum. The bartender says "Whats with the captain's wheel in your pants?" the Pirate says "Arggggg its driving me nuts!" )

book review!
For Christmas my parents bought me "Less and More" The Design ethos of Dieter Rams. It is a great book and I haven't yet scratched it's surface. There are sketches, essays and great full color photos. Here are some shots of the book and a link to a review on Core77.
